Another person has died after contracting Covid-19, the Department of Health has announced.

There were 3,932 new cases of the virus recorded in the most recent 24-hour reporting period.

In hospitals, 371 inpatients are tested positive for the virus, down from 481 a week ago.

There are 23 Covid-positive patients in ICU, the lowest figure since last July. Of these, 20 are on ventilation.

Hospitals in the north are 73 beds over capacity. Four hospitals are reporting free beds:

On Friday, rules on table service in pubs and restaurants were relaxed and the requirement to prove exemptions on wearing face masks was removed.

From next Wednesday, nightclubs will be able to reopen and Covid certification will no longer be required to enter pubs, restaurants or cinemas.

Ministers are set to consider the remaining restrictions on February 10.
