A 43-year-old man was being questioned on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was shot in both legs in the Ballybeen estate in Dundonald in September.

A 35-year-old man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds after he was attacked in Kilberry Park at around 8.30pm on Thursday, September 23.

The 43-year old was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He is the second man to be arrested over the shooting.

In December, a 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life, motoring offences and drug crimes.

Police asked anyone who saw the attack, or who may have any information, to contact them on 101.
