Investigation underway after man dies in Co Antrim collision

POLICE have said they are investigating after a man died following a collision with a car in a residential area of Larne.

The man, who was aged in his twenties, was a pedestrian.

The collision, which was reported to the emergency services just before 10.30am yesterday at Green Drive in the Co Antrim town.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said it dispatched crews to the scene after receiving an emergency call while the air ambulance was also tasked.

"No patients were taken to the scene," he added.

A police spokeswoman said an investigation was "underway". She also appealed for anyone who "witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage" to contact the PSNI.
