TWO acclaimed historians are set to debate the implications of partition in the grand setting of Hillsborough Castle's Throne Room.
Oxford's Professor Roy Foster and his Queen's University counterpart Professor Richard English will tonight consider the centenary of Northern Ireland, alongside a discussion on the region's past and future.
Stuart Campbell of Hillsborough Castle and Gardens said the event was an opportunity to delve into a piece of history in a place where the north's constitutional status had been talked about many times over the past 100 years.
"With our speakers, visitors will have an extremely informed discussion on the impact of partition 100 years ago, how it has shaped Northern Ireland and what we can expect in the future," he said.
The event begins at 7.45pm and tickets can be booked at hrp.org.uk/Hillsborough-castle
