A CO Fermanagh woman has been charged with multiple counts of wasting police time which are alleged to have occurred on varying levels every month from June to September.

Alison Nagel (45) from Rockfield Park, Belleek faces 22 charges, comprising 11 counts each of making false reports or statements to police and misusing a communications network.

A police officer familiar with the facts of the case told Enniskillen Magistrates Court the charges could be connected.

The bulk of offending is alleged to have been committed on various dates throughout June and July, then again on August 10 and September 21.

The court heard the instances of wasting police time relate to Nagel knowingly making false reports or statements around concerns for her safety.

The misuse of a communications network charges involve allegations of Nagel sending messages she knew to be false to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety.

On July 13 it was alleged she made five separate false reports to police.

A defence solicitor requested some time to consult fully with his client on the charges and stressed there are several issues in the background.

Deputy District Judge Laura Ievers agreed to an adjournment until November 8.

Nagel was remanded on continuing bail.
