Woman injured after man with knife demands car keys in Lurgan

Police in Co Armagh are appealing for information following an incident in Lurgan on Saturday evening.

A WOMAN in Lurgan has been injured after being confronted with a man armed with a knife who demanded car keys.

The incident occurred in the Monbrief Walk area of the Co Armagh town at around 5.30pm on Saturday.

Two women were approached by a man who is alleged to have produced a "large knife" and demanded they hand over car keys.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "One of the women sustained minor injuries. We are appealing for information and witnesses which may assist the investigation to contact the non-emergency number 101."

The spokesperson said a man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place. He remained in custody last night helping police with inquiries.
