Man arrested on suspicion of drugs offences following search linked to UVF criminality
A MAN in his 30s has been arrested following the seizure of suspected cocaine and cannabis by police investigating criminality linked to the East Belfast UVF.
The suspected drugs with an estimated street value of £25,000 were recovered alongside paraphernalia associated with the supply of substances and a quantity of cash during the search of a property in the Beersbridge area by members of the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A and B controlled drugs, possession of Class A and B controlled drugs with intent to supply, and possessing criminal property. He remained in police custody last night.
A PSNI spokesperson said "the possession and supply of drugs within communities should not, and indeed will not, be tolerated".
