Covid-19: One further death as 1,471 new cases recorded
Another person has died after contracting Covid-19, the Department of Health has confirmed.
The total number of deaths since the pandemic began now stands at 2,600.
There were 1,471 further cases of the virus recorded in the most recent 24-hour reporting period.
This morning there were 374 Covid-positive patients in hospital, of whom 33 were in intensive care. Of these, 26 were on ventilators.
Yesterday saw a sharp rise in the number of patients across the north's hospitals with 368 inpatients compared to 314 the day before.
Hospitals in the north are over capacity by a combined 123 beds.
There are currently 65 outbreaks in care homes.
To date 2,561,250 vaccines have been administered.
