Police investigating arson attack on business premises in Co Antrim

NIFRS officers extinguished the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately

POLICE are investigating an arson attack at business premises in Co Antrim.

Two vans were damaged in the fire in the New Street area of Randalstown on Friday.

A PSNI spokesman said: "Officers and colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the address, having received a report of the incident at around 8.45pm.

"Two vans were damaged in the blaze, which then spread to a nearby workshop which also sustained significant damage.

"NIFRS officers extinguished the fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately.

"Our enquiries are ongoing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact detectives on the non-emergency number 101."
