Small loyalist protest as Maros Sefcovic delivers QUB speech
LOYALISTS mounted a muted protest outside Queen's University in Belfast today while European Commission vice president Maros Sefcovic gave a speech about the Northern Ireland Protocol.
Observers estimated around 25 people attended.
They stood outside the main gates at the university's Lanyon Building with a number of large union flags and placards.
Protesters also had a large banner demanding `Uphold Northern Ireland's Sovereignty Trigger Article 16'.
Those attending were met with a low-key police presence and the socially-distanced demonstration moved inside the compound.
Loyalist activist Jamie Bryson attended the event which he said was a "group of peaceful loyalist protestors" who were there "to protest against the presence of EU agitator Maros Sefcovfic".
