New countries added to the green list for travel from Northern Ireland

A number of new countries have been added to the green list for travel from Northern Ireland, the Department of Health has announced.

The new countries added to NI’s green list are Demark, Lithuania, Finland, Switzerland and Liechtenstein, the Azores and Canada.

The changes come into force at 4am on Monday, August 30.

Thailand and Montenegro are being added to the red list which means people arriving home to NI will have to stay in hotel quarantine following that date and time.

The amber list remains unchanged.

Those journeying to the additional ‘green’ destinations must still take a number of PCR tests and complete a passenger locator form within 48 hours of leaving.
