Taylor Swift sends Irish fans into frenzy by posting images from Co Donegal

FANS of US singer Taylor Swift are in a frenzy amid reports the Shake It Off singer is on holiday in Donegal.

The 31-year-old, who is an 11-time Grammy award winner, is believed to be taking a break in Ireland after she posted images on her Instagram, showing her enjoying the sun from an idyllic setting.

Irish fans were quick to point out that her surroundings looked familiar.

However, while the images were shared on Saturday, it is not known when they were taken or if the star has since left.

The singer, who was recently awarded the Global Icon Award at The Brit Awards, is rumoured to be in Co Donegal at the same time her English actor boyfriend, Joe Alwyn is also in the area filming Conversations With Friends, an adaptation of the Sally Rooney novel.

Donegal Tourism also marked the Taylor's visit.

Posting on Twitter, it wrote: "Taylor Swift has shared some lovely moments enjoying Magherawarden Beach, Portsalon yesterday. We hope you had a wonderful time in Donegal".

The news that Taylor Swift might be in Co Donegal prompted excitement among Irish fans of the star who took to social media in the hope of reaching out to the singer.

One fan wrote: "Can someone tell me if Taylor is actually in Donegal?? cos if she is imma be going on a hunt whilst wearing my new folklore hoody and my cardigan to ensure she knows from afar that i am indeed a swiftie. see u soon queen."

While another added: "Alright. I'm skipping work. Who's coming donegal? We goin find Taylor Swift.”

The singer had posted the photos on her Instagram to celebrate a year since the release of her acclaimed album, Folklore.
