Shots were fired at a house in Kilrea this morning and a 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the gun attack.

Police were alerted just after midnight that shots had been fired at a property in Drumsaragh Road in the Co Derry town.

The householders escaped injury but were left badly shaken, according to police.    

A 27-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possession of a firearm in suspicious circumstances.
