A new flowerbed which has been designed as a tribute to the NHS has been unveiled in south Belfast.

Gardener John Cassels, who has worked for Belfast City Council's parks team for more than 40 years, helped design and plant the display at Botanic Gardens, which spells out `Thanks NHS'.

The creative flowerbed, which was completed this week, is located in front of the Palm House and contains a mixture of more than 2,000 flowers including Petunias, Pyrethrums, Lobelias and Alyssums.

Blue Lobelia and Pyrethrin Golden Moss were used for the lettering `Thanks NHS' while mixed rainbow colours of Petunia form the backdrop.
