Three men arrested after incident at north Belfast flats

Police said three men had been arrested

THREE men were being questioned by police last night on suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent following an incident in north Belfast.

Police said they were arrested after a report three men were trying to "smash their way inside a number of the flats" early yesterday morning.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The men, aged 34,35 and 42 were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including attempted aggravated burglary and attempted grievous bodily harm with intent.

"The men were arrested after police received reports, at around 4.45am, that three males were in a block of flats at Hill Street attempting to smash their way inside a number of the flats.

"The three men are currently assisting detectives with their enquiries.

"Anyone with any information about this incident or who may be able to help with the investigation, is asked to call detectives at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101."
