Man 'critical' after Bangor assault

POLICE are treating an attack on a man found with serious head injuries in Co Down as attempted murder.

The incident happened in Bangor during the early hours of yesterday.

The PSNI received a report at 3.50am of concerns for the safety of a man at an address in the Fernmore Road area.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and police attended the address where they found a man in his 20s with serious head injuries.

He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police have appealed to anyone with information to get in touch with detectives on 101.
