TAILORED education content is to be made available online and the BBC iPlayer.

Aimed specifically at foundation and primary pupils in the north, it will go live on January 15.

Lessons for P1 and P2 pupils will include personal development and mutual understanding, maths and language and literacy.

P3-5 pupils will be able to access classes on music and language with P6-7 options including Irish, Ulster Scots and history.

Further online lessons for primary and secondary school pupils can be accessed at bbc.co.uk/bitesize/primary.

Reacting quickly to schools moving to remote learning, the new offer will ensure children can access curriculum-based education even if they do not have access to the internet.

Bitesize Daily primary and secondary will also air every day on BBC Red Button as well as episodes being available on demand on the iPlayer.

"Ensuring children across the UK have the opportunity to continue to follow the appropriate core parts of their nation's school curriculum has been a key priority for the BBC throughout this past year," said Tim Davie, BBC Director General.

"Education is absolutely vital - the BBC is here to play its part and I'm delighted that we have been able to bring this to audiences so swiftly."
