Condemnation after reports of Derry shooting
There has been condemnation after reports that a man was shot in Derry last night.
It is understood the victim's injuries are not life threatening.
It is believed the man was shot in Kildrum Gardens area of Creggan and later taken to hospital.
SDLP assembly member Mark H Durkan last night said "there is no place for this in society".
"We have seen in Creggan especially, the risks people take when they produce guns on the street," he said.
"All violence does is create more victims.
"We know how stretched the health service is and how busy our hospitals are and exhausted our health workers are and they are adding to this burden."
It is understood a car was also burnt out in the area last night, although it is not known if the incidents are linked.
