A NEWLYWED couple have melted hearts after being filmed having their first dance to buskers in Belfast city centre.

The pair were seen dancing together as musicians performed on the pavement outside Linen Hall Library.

A video clip of the happy couple dancing as shoppers and traffic passed by was shared on Twitter by a BBC journalist.

Emily McGarvey tweeted: "A couple who just got married at Belfast City Hall having their first dance to buskers".

The video was shared hundreds of times on Twitter as people gave their best wishes to the couple.

Belfast City Council shared the video, tweeting: "Congratulations!"

People Before Profit West Belfast MLA Gerry Carroll tweeted: "Many happy returns to the married couple!"

Another internet user shared the clip and said: "30 seconds to distract you from the constant stream of doom on Twitter."

Under the current Covid-19 restrictions in Northern Ireland, marriages and civil partnership ceremonies are limited to 25 people, and receptions or post-ceremony gatherings are not permitted.
