A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with the murder of Patrycja Wyrebek in Newry.

He is due to appear before the city’s magistrates court via videolink on Thursday.

The 20-year-old Polish woman was found dead her home in Drumalane Park on Sunday. It is understood that she was found lifeless in the bath at about 8.30am.

Friends are due to hold a walk in memory of her on Friday.

Ms Wyrebel, believed to be originally from the Siedlce area, has been described as a “beautiful girl”.

Her death has left the community of Drumalane in shock, while it is also understood that she had previously lived in Belfast, where members of her family still live.

In a post on Facebook, her mother Iwona wrote: “I would like to thank all my friends and neighbours for their support and warm words to us at this difficult time for us, we know that you are with us.

“God bless you.”

Friends will gather at Belfast Castle from 3.30pm on Friday for a walk in her memory.

One said: “This is a hard time for us and we want to remember our friend.

“Everyone is welcome. Please be respectful and remember this is a hard time for many of us.”

Organisers urged people to wear white and red, the colours of the Polish flag.
