FRIENDS star Courteney Cox has told how she has not been able to see Derry-born partner Johnny McDaid for 133 days and counting due to coronavirus restrictions.

The American actress, who played Monica Geller in the hit sitcom, is in the US while her musician boyfriend is in Europe.

Wishing the Snow Patrol guitarist a happy 43rd birthday on Instagram, Cox wrote: "It’s been 133 days since we were last together. Covid sucks.

"Happy Birthday J. I loved our lunch/dinner (LA/London time) zoom date today."

Sharing an image from their video call and adding heart emojis and the hashtag #myone, Cox added: "I miss you madly."

Back in May, Cox had explained that her partner was travelling in Europe when lockdown came into effect.

She said: "You don’t realise, and we spend a lot of time on FaceTime but I just miss his physical touch. This is hard.

"He left, he was supposed to go to Switzerland to write, but he had to go to England first and then all of a sudden it happened, they called quarantine, so it has been so long."

Cox also told how she had decided to "binge watch" episodes of Friends - which ended in 2004 - during the lockdown.
