No further deaths have been recorded with Covid-19 in Northern Ireland, the Department of Health said, leaving the total number of people who have died at 554.

It is the seventh consecutive day that no deaths have been recorded in the north.

Another four positive cases have been noted since Thursday, bringing the total confirmed cases in the north to 5,772, according to the department.

There are no patients with Covid-19 being treated in intensive care in the north's hospitals.

In care homes, there are 13 confirmed outbreaks of coronavirus with a further 13 suspected outbreaks.

This morning, the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (Nisra) released its latest figures, showing 839 people have died after contracting Covid-19.

Nisra records all deaths where Covid-19 is mentioned on a death certificate.
