You can start returning library books from today, Libraries NI has announced.

Libraries have not reopened but Libraries NI wants borrowed books to be returned ahead of time so they can prepared for placement on the shelves.

Customers who are unable to return books will still be able to have them renewed. Libraries have been closed since March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, libraries are trialling a book and collect scheme from today in Banbridge, Dungannon, Warrenpoint and Larne branches. From July 20 the scheme will be available in 90 libraries.

The service will enable library members to phone their local library to request a selection of books and arrange contactless collection.
