A TRIP during lockdown for residents of a Co Tyrone care home is being investigated after concerns were raised by relatives.

A serious adverse incident has been initiated by the Southern Health and Social Care Trust.

Residents of Dungannon Care Home were take on the trip in early May, prompting complaints.

The home's owners, Four Seasons Health Care, said the trip was to a secure sensory garden, the BBC reported.

A spokesperson for the trust said it had decided to investigate due to the "ongoing concerns" of relatives.

The trust added it would "ensure that lessons are learned for everyone involved".

Four Seasons said the trust would have its "full cooperation" and "will welcome any lessons which are learnt as a result of the process".
