A WOMAN'S handbag was stolen from her car by a robber as she waited at traffic lights in Dundonald.

It happened around noon yesterday at the junction of the East Link Road and Upper Newtownards Road.

The woman had stopped in her car at traffic lights when she was approached by an unknown man at the driver's side.

He took the keys of the vehicle before opening the passenger's side and stealing a handbag.

The woman was not injured but was left badly shaken by the incident, police said.

Detectives said they want to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or who spoke to the victim at the scene.

They appealed for anyone with information to phone 101, quoting reference number 814 02/06/20, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
