DANIEL O'Donnell is set to open up his Donegal home to viewers for a new television chat show during lockdown.

The singer has been spending the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic at his home in Donegal and from next month, is inviting TV viewers in.

The new chat and entertainment show on TG4 will see O'Donnell catching up with fans and friends online during the programme, chatting to them about how they are coping in lockdown and the new hobbies they have taken up in recent months.

"I'll be staying at home here in Donegal and I'd like to invite you to my home," he said.

The new series, which is due to be broadcast from June 7, will also see celebrity guests including Gloria Hunniford, Derek Ryan and Philomena Begley, appear on the show.

In the first episode on June 7, the Kincasslagh singer will chat with Moya Brennan from Clannad and an Irish couple who have had to postpone their wedding.

He will also meet up virtually with his old friend Ms Hunniford.

O'Donnell's wife Majella is also set to appear in the shows, joining him in an online hula hooping class during the first episode,

Country singers Begley and Ryan will perform their new single, It Won’t Rain Forever, in the second episode of the new series and join O'Donnell for a chat.

The O'Donnell's will also take part in an online Zumba workout, with the singer set to learn about mindfulness through chocolate.

Daniel sa Bhaile will be shown on TG4 on Sundays at 6.40pm from June 7.
