REPUBLICAN parties are set to hold a series of online events to mark the Easter Rising this weekend.

Republican Sinn Féin is planning to hold a series of live Facebook events.

At 2.30pm today Republican Sinn Féin Ard Chomhairle member Martin Duffy will read the Easter statement from the leadership of the republican movement, followed by a short oration.

On Easter Sunday at 2.30pm Ard Chomhairle member Des Dalton will read the 1916 Proclamation and will also deliver a short oration.

National Treasurer Diarmuid Mac Dubhghlais will read the roll of honour of the executed rising leaders followed by an oration at 2.30pm on Monday.

Also on Monday Saoradh will post speeches from the party and republican prisoners on all its social media platforms at 3pm.

The IRSP will hold its annual Easter oration live on Sunday at 1pm across its social media accounts.
