Teenager denies throwing paint over police

A teenager has denied throwing paint over police officers.

With 19-year-old Nathan Lloyd appearing at Lisburn Magistrates Court via videolink, a defence lawyer told District Judge Rosie Watters there are “not guilty pleas to all matters”.

Lloyd, with an address at Causeway Meadows in Lisburn, faces a total of 11 charges including four counts of criminal damage, three of assaulting police officers and single counts of threatening to kill an officer, using disorderly behaviour close to his home, setting a dog in another person and attempting to set a dog on another person, all alleged to have been committed on November 30 last year.

The criminal damage charges allege that Lloyd damaged his electronic tag, “threw white paint” over the uniforms of two constables and damaged a police cell van by spitting in it.

Lloyd was remanded back into custody and the case adjourned for two weeks to allow the prosecution to check the availability of witnesses.
