A man armed with a firearm attempted to rob a bookmaker's in west Belfast.

Police said he entered the business on the Falls Road shortly after 5.35pm yesterday and demanded money from two members of staff.

He left emptied-handed. Police said both staff members were "left badly shaken, but not injured".

The man was described as 5ft 10in tall and wore a dark hooded top with a white Nike logo and a scarf around his face. Police have appealed for information.
