A SHOCKING online video posted by a Belfast woman who claims she was attacked has been viewed more than a quarter of a million times.

The Facebook video, which lasts close to 40 minutes, was uploaded on Monday. In it, a woman with facial injuries, gives an account of how they were allegedly sustained.

By 11pm on Monday it had been viewed more than 350,000 times and shared by close to 5,000 Facebook users.

The woman, thought to be a mother-of-two, also posted several photographs and an earlier video, which had no commentary.

A police spokeswoman said: “A 29-year-old man has been charged with criminal damage, attempt to commit grievous bodily harm with intent and two counts of possession of offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

“He was due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Monday November 25. As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.”
