An audio tour has been introduced at Belfast Zoo.

The popular tourist attraction has introduced the new guide in a bid to enhance visitor experience.

The free tour, which can be downloaded to mobile phones via the CloudGuide App, will allow visitors to explore more about the zoo’s 120 species and conservation activities including more than 60 breeding programmes.

Using their own phones, Android or iOS devices, visitors can listen to the tour, which is currently available in English and lasts around 35 minutes however, anyone using the tour can do so at their own pace and in their desired order, with the help of an interactive built-in map.

The guide reveals a vast array of fun facts and gives a detailed overview of featured animals at the zoo with more than 33 stops.

In addition, the CloudGuide App also allows users the ability to provide real-time feedback about their experience.

Ashleigh Fox, Belfast Zoo’s Commercial Support Officer, said: "This interactive experience allows visitors to explore more of the zoo at no additional cost and at their own pace".

"The CloudGuide App is easy to use, doesn’t require any hired equipment and can be used with the comfort and ease of visitors’ own phones.," she said.

"The audio tours are a perfect addition to our daily keeper talks and animal feeding times, allowing visitors to learn more about our 120 species and conservation efforts including over 60 collaborative breeding programmes.”
