TWO people have been questioned after a man was attacked with an iron bar in Limavady.

Detective sergeant Rachel Gardiner said police were called after a number of people, including a man armed with an iron bar, went into residential premises at Benevenagh Road shortly after 6.30pm on Sunday.

“One man in his 20s who was inside the property was assaulted. He was treated at the scene for head injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

“It was reported that a number of windows had also been damaged at two properties in the area during the incident. Police are investigating a link between both the assault and the incidents of criminal damage."

Two men, aged 50 and 21, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and aggravated burglary.

Ms Gardiner appealed to anyone who witnessed the incidents to contact police.
