A CO Clare man is facing trial in Northern Ireland for allegedly making and possessing indecent photos of children.

Philip Gaston was before Belfast Magistrates' Court today on a total of 12 charges.

The 50-year-old, of Dromoher in Kilnaboy, is accused of committing the offences on dates between July 2015 and May 2017.

A preliminary enquiry hearing focused on whether he has a case to answer.

Gaston was returned for Crown Court trial on a date to be set, according to the Courts' Service.

He was released on continuing bail until those proceedings get underway.
