HUNDREDS of school pupils have been discussing the impact of Brexit at an annual `symposium'.

Young people from 16 post-primary schools took part in the event at Our Lady and St Patrick's College in Belfast.

They put questions to a panel that included former SDLP Brexit spokeswoman Claire Hanna and the DUP's Christopher Stalford.

Guests included Irish News columnist Dr Eamon Phoenix and former SDLP leader Alasdair McDonnell.

Pupils asked about the impact of Brexit on the economy, the likelihood of a no deal and the threat to freedom of movement.
