A 26-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the murder of Wayne Boylan in Co Down last month has been released.

Mr Boylan (37) was shot in the head at a flat at Lower Dromore Road in Warrenpoint on January 18.

A woman who was in the flat, Alice Louise Burns (21), was also seriously injured in the shotgun attack.

A meeting of the Policing Board last week heard that she was making a good recovery.

A man who was also in the house at the time escaped unharmed.

Police said yesterday that a 26-year-old man had been been detained on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

He was later released on police bail pending further inquiries.

A 44-year-old man arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and a drug-related offence was also later released on police bail pending further enquiries.
