A woman who lost her wedding ring during a Valentine's Day visit to Portstewart Strand has appealed for its return.

Tracy Orr, from Belfast, was visiting the north coast with her husband of eight years, Mitch Hodge, and their pet dog when she lost the ring while on the beach close to Portstewart Golf Club.

The white gold ring was custom-made in the US using six small diamonds from a relative's engagement ring.

Tracey said: "I was throwing a ball for our dog Heidi to catch, and I think that's when the ring came off my finger.

"It's not worth a lot in terms of money, but its sentimental value is priceless to me. I just hope that if someone spots it in the sand they can get in touch with The Irish News so that it can be returned."
