Woman arrested after man dies in Andersonstown Road crash

A pedestrian has died following a road traffic collision in west Belfast.

The 48-year-old man died after being struck by a red Toyota Aygo car on the Andersonstown Road shortly after 4.40pm this afternoon.

A 19-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

The Andersonstown Road was closed between the junction with Slievegallion Drive and the Kennedy Way roundabout after the crash and reopened late last night.

Police have appealed for anyone who was travelling on the Andersonstown Road around the time of the collision and who witnessed anything or anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact officers in west Belfast on 101.
