RHI inquiry concludes oral sessions with legal submissions

THE RHI inquiry will conclude its oral sessions next week with closing submissions from the key protagonists' legal representatives.

The submissions will get underway on Wednesday December 12 following a presentation by inquiry counsel Joseph Aiken. During the course of the day, there will be submissions on behalf of the Department for the Economy, Department of Finance, scheme administrator Ofgem, and David Sterling, the interim head of the regional civil service.

On Thursday, there will be a submission on behalf of the DUP, whose witnesses over the course of the inquiry have been party leader Arlene Foster and special advisers Andrew Crawford, John Robinson, Timothy Johnston and Stephen Brimstone.

There will also be submissions from representatives on behalf of former enterprise minister Jonathan Bell and his special adviser while in office, Timothy Cairns.

On Friday, lawyers will make submissions on behalf of two separate teams from the Department for the Economy.
