O2's 4G network was affected by a total service blackout
Marie Louise McConville

THE PSNI last night urged the public not to fall victim to a prank linked to the O2 mobile disruption this week.

Posting on social media, the police service asked people not to ring a number which had been widely circulated.

The service said on Facebook: "Apparently there is something circulating on social media advising O2 customers to ring 141999 to get a refund after the data issues yesterday. THIS IS A PRANK and will put you through to the emergency operator, please don't ring it".
