DRUGS with an estimated street value of £10,000 have been seized in Carrickfergus in an operation involving the PSNI's Paramilitary Crime Task Force (PCTF).

A 60-year-old man has since been arrested and remains in police custody.

The discovery of suspected cannabis on Wednesday followed a planned search of a house under the Justice and Security Act.

PCTF was established by the PSNI, HM Revenue and Customs and the National Crime Agency as part of a Stormont executive plan on tackling paramilitary activity, criminality and organised crime.

The operation in Carrickfergus also involved the PSNI's Tactical Support Group.
