Ombudsman appeal over Lurgan video of PSNI officer 'dropping bullets'

The Police Ombudsman's office appealed for witnesses to come forward

THE Police Ombudsman's office has appealed for witnesses to an incident in Lurgan last month during which a PSNI officer appeared to drop a magazine clip.

Video footage circulated online appears to show an object fall to the ground while a PSNI officer bends to get underneath a police cordon.

The officer picks it up but returns to pick up something else up after bystanders shout after him that he "can't leave those bullets there".

It happened at a police cordon at William Street on October 18 while police were dealing with an incident at nearby railway lines.

The Police Ombudsman's office encouraged anyone with information to phone 0800 032 7880.
