A pensioner who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Dunmurry last month has died.

George McCaul, who was 81, had been pushing a four-year-old child in a pram, when they were struck by a car on the Upper Lisburn Road at around 3.50pm on Sunday, October 21.

Police said yesterday that Mr McCaul, who was from the Twinbrook area, died on Thursday.

A PSNI spokeswoman said: "Mr McCaul was taken to hospital for treatment for serious injuries, but he sadly passed away in hospital during the early hours of yesterday morning (Thursday 8th November).

"I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision, or who may have dash-cam footage available to contact police on 101 quoting reference number 947 21/10/18".
