TRIBUTES have been paid to to mother-of-three from Co Down who died suddenly at the weekend.

Adele Johnston, a widow from Ballynahinch, passed away on Saturday.

Yesterday’s Down GAA Junior Football Final between Teconnaugh and Kilclief was postponed as a result of Mrs Johnston’s death.

Two of her three sons were due to play in the final.

Former MP for the area Margaret Richie, who knows the family, said they were “deeply rooted in our local community in Teconnaught and Annacloy”. “

Deepest sympathies to her children, mother and siblings”, she said.

Sinn Féin MP Chris Hazzard said it was “heartbreaking news” from Teconnaught “Thoughts with wider family and friends”.
