Co Tyrone man (70) dies in crash in Scotland

A MAN who died in a three-vehicle crash in Scotland has been named as 70-year-old Alan Neill from Stewartstown, Co Tyrone.

The crash took place on the A75 near Creetown, in Dumfries and Galloway.

Mr Neil's Ford Ranger pick-up and a silver Suzuki Swift were in a collision with a Scania lorry, at around 2.45am on Saturday.

A 43-year-old woman who had been driving the car, was seriously hurt in the accident and was taken by air ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with back injuries.

A 25-year-old man who had been driving the lorry was uninjured, as was a 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in the car.

Mr Neil's pick-up was towing a trailer with 12 dogs inside when the crash happened.

Two dogs died, and two other injured dogs were taken to a Scottish SPCA centre for treatment.
