Man (45) critical in hospital after 'kick to head' assault in Ardglass

A 45-year-old man is "critically ill" in hospital with serious head injuries following an assault on him on Tuesday morning.

The PSNI report that it is believed that the man was kicked in the head by another male in the Strangford Road area of Ardglass, Co Down just before 11am.

The injured man remains in intensive care in hospital and is said to be in a critical condition.

A 23-year-old man was arrested in relation to the incident shortly after but has been since released on bail pending further police enquiries.

Police have appealed for witnesses who may have been in the Strangford Road area in Ardglass at the time to contact them at Ardmore Station in Newry.
