Visitors attending cemetery Sunday at the City Cemetery in west Belfast tomorrow have been advised of new traffic arrangements.

Those travelling to the annual event at 3pm, during which graves will be blessed and the families of the deceased led in prayer, will no longer will able to exit the graveyard by the Whiterock Road/Falls Road exit.

A spokeswoman for Belfast City Council, which operates the cemetery, said: "Visitors to City Cemetery are required to use the one-way traffic system which has been in place since February to facilitate the Belfast Rapid System upgrade.

"Vehicles are no longer permitted to exit the cemetery at the Whiterock Road (Falls Road) entrance and will now exit the site at Brittons Parade (Whiterock Road).

"Vehicles travelling to Cemetery Sunday service from Andersonstown Road can enter and exit the gate facing Rossa House. We’ll have traffic marshalls on site assisting visitors."
