A 51-YEAR-OLD man was understood to be in a critical condition last night after he was pulled from the water in Co Down.

Paramedics received a call at around 9.20am yesterday to say a man had been found face down in a fishing lake near Lough Road in Dromore.

A spokesman for the Ambulance Service said it sent a rapid response paramedic, an ambulance officer and an A&E crew to the scene. The Air Ambulance was also sent to the scene.

The man was taken by ambulance to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

It is understood the man is a father of four.
