A man and woman arrested by police investigating violent dissident republican activity have been released unconditionally.

The 38-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man were held under the Terrorism Act after detectives from PSNI Serious Crime Branch said on Saturday morning they had conducted searches in the north Belfast and Dunmurry areas.

They were taken to Musgrave police station for questioning, but the PSNI later said the pair had been released without charge.
