THREE men were arrested after what police described as an "altercation" at licensed premises in Castlederg early on New Year’s morning.

Two men, one aged in his 20s and one in his 30s, were injured in the incident at John Street at around 1am yesterday.

Police said three men, aged, 26, 28 and 31, were arrested a short time later on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A spokesman said yesterday: “Two of the males remain in custody at this time. The 28-year-old male has been released on police bail pending further police inquiries.”
