Man charged with attempted murder in connection with Belleeks stabbing

A 48-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and other offences in connection with a weekend stabbing in Co Armagh.

Two men, both aged 43, were stabbed in Main Street, Belleeks, shortly after midnight on Sunday. Neither are understood to have suffered life threatening injuries.

The 48-year-old is also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is expected to appear before Newry Magistrates Court on November 1.
